This graduate-level course is theoretical, instead of programming,
oriented. Anyone who is going to learn the skills of computer programming
should take other courses which may be found in undergraduate level.
This course is going to study the possibility of representing and
exploring the knowledge of space (and place) by employing the knowledge of
computer science. We expect students can combine the theories of computer
science and architectural/urban studies after they finish this course. At that
time, they are able to realize or even breakthrough advanced spatial theories
with a new vision. A good example has been shown via the work of Chris
Alexander, who coined ¡¥pattern language¡¦ by combining these two fields.
